Emily’s Broccoli Cheese Bread


Ingredients

  • 1 cup (8 oz) shredded smoked gouda cheese

  • ½ cup (4 oz) Velveeta cheese

  • ¾ cup milk

  • 8 – 10 oz fresh broccoli florets

  • 1 loaf sourdough bread

  • 2 tablespoons butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup (8 oz) shredded smoked cheddar cheese


  1. Cut a 2-inch chunk from the middle of the bread, removing with it, most of the bread on the inside. Do NOT cut the ends off. It should be like a big bowl. Set the removed bread aside.

  2. In a sauce pan, mix together butter and garlic. Let garlic lightly brown. Then mix in about 1 cup shredded smoked cheddar, 1 cup smoked Gouda, and half a cup Velveeta Cheese. Add in milk to your desired consistency (about .5- 1 cup).

  3. Steam broccoli in a separate pot. Ensure Broccoli is kept al dente. Once steamed, mix it in with the cheese.

  4. Pour mixture in the bread and sprinkle additional cheddar cheese on top. Bake in oven according to bread directions.

  5. Let cool 5 minutes and cut. It will be messy but so good!
