Nick’s Maple Roasted Nuts

Shamelessly stolen and slightly tweaked from Kim Potvin’s recipe. Perfect for sorta healthy holiday snack.


Ingredients

  • Salt

  • Maple Syrup

  • Cayenne pepper

  • Raw Pecans

  • Raw Cashews

  • Raw Walnuts (optional, Nick does not use these)


  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.

  2. Add all nuts to a large bowl.

  3. Add enough maple syrup to give each nut a light coating.

  4. Add a few shakes of salt to taste.

  5. Sprinkle a dash a cayenne for some heat.

  6. Mix it all together and add more syrup if needed

  7. Spread nuts in an oiled baking sheet. They can piled up about two nuts high. IF you have extra nuts, bake in a separate tray instead of overloading one.

  8. Cook for about 8 minutes. Take out and stir. Cook for about another 8 minutes. They are ready to take out when they get slightly darker than golden brown.

  9. Let cool.

  10. Poor into a fancy holiday bowl and serve!
