Michelle’s Pizza Dough

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon sugar

  • 1 ½ cups lukewarm water

  • 1 package (7 grams) of dry active yeast

  • 4 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  1. In a big bowl, combine all the dry ingredients, and then the oil.

  2. Add the water slowly mixing well with a fork. Don’t use all the water if it’s not necessary.

  3. Knead the dough with your hands for about 10 minutes and then shape into a ball, put it in the bowl and cover it with a kitchen towel.

  4. Let it stand in a dry place for 3 hours, or until the dough was doubled in bulk.

  5. Work the dough a little bit more and if it’s too sticky add a little bit of flour.

  6. Roll out on a floured surface, or with olive-oiled hands, slowly stretch using gravity.

  7. Precook the pizza dough at 375º F before adding toppings if it’s thicker to avoid undercooked or doughy pizza.
