Tom’s Garlic Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf bread (traditionally white Italian bread, but any type will work, even rolls cut in half), sliced into thick slices or cut horizontally in half

  • 4 cloves garlic, finely crushed

  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened to room temperature

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (alternatively, use 4 tablespoons of butter total)

  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley, chopped

  • pinch of salt

  • 3 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan or Romano cheese (optional)

  1. Mash garlic, butter, and oil, parsley and salt together in a small bowl with a fork.

  2. Thinly spread onto the bread or rolls with a knife.

  3. Put in the oven under the broiler until golden brown.
