Béchamel Sauce

Serves 6.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ teaspoon pepper

  • 1 stick butter, cut into smaller chunks

  • 4 ¼ cups milk

  • 1 cup flour

  • 2 tablespoons salt


  1. Whisk together milk and flour in a saucepan until well combined. Add in salt and pepper.

  2. Put pan over medium-low heat, add in butter, and stir continuously. Sauce will begin to condense. Once first bubbles appear, before the sauce starts to boil, remove from heat.
