Bernice’s Cabbage Crunch Salad
Serves 12
Ingredients
2 tablespoons sugar
½ cup corn oil
½ package of the ramen chicken flavoring
3 tablespoons rice wine or white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 head of Napa or celery cabbage, chopped (or one bag of coleslaw mix)
2 tablespoons sunflower seeds, toasted
1 package chicken flavored ramen noodles
soy sauce?
Crush ramen noodles with the heel of your hand before opening. Toast the sunflower seeds and ramen noodles (separately, one after the other) over medium heat, careful not to burn.
Whisk together the sugar, corn oil, ramen chicken flavoring, vinegar and salt in a small bowl.
Chop the cabbage.
Mix the dressing, cabbage, ramen noodles, and toasted nuts together just before serving so the noodles stay crunchy.
