Mary’s Sugar Cookies


Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 5 cups flour

  • 1 pound butter, softened

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 3 eggs

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract


  1. Cream together butter and sugar.

  2. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.

  3. Add in salt and baking soda, and then flour a little at a time.

  4. Chill for one hour.

  5. Roll thin and cut out shapes.

  6. Bake 7-10 minutes at 375°F.

  7. Cool on a rack.
